Why opening hours change during Ramadan
During the month of Ramadan, social life shifts to the evening. Bowling centres, which are often located inside shopping malls, follow the rhythm of the city: they open in the afternoon for those who want to bowl before breaking the fast, close at iftar (the “ftour”, as it's called in Morocco), then reopen around 9 pm for evenings that carry on until midnight or 1 am. This is when the lanes are most in demand, with families and groups of friends alike.

How much does a game cost during Ramadan?
Most centres keep their usual prices, but some publish a special price list. At the Megamall in Rabat, the Ramadan 2025 price list showed a game at 40 MAD per person from Monday to Thursday outside school holidays and 50 MAD at weekends, on public holidays and during school holidays, compared with 55–65 MAD for the package with a drink the rest of the year. The evening admission fee stayed at 15 MAD, and groups of 20 or more were welcome by reservation.

Our tips for bowling during Ramadan
- Bowl in the afternoon if you want a lane without waiting: it's the quietest slot, and often the cheapest.
- Book in the evening, especially on Thursdays, Fridays and at weekends: between 9 pm and 11 pm, the lanes are packed.
- Come as a group: a lane takes up to 6 players, ideal for an outing with family or friends after iftar.
- Think about group bookings: companies and associations often hold their Ramadan evenings at the bowling alley; ask for group rates in advance.
- Stay hydrated before bowling in the evening: bowling is still a physical activity, and several games in a row tire your arms and legs.
Ramadan is also a great time for friendly evening tournaments. To take part, or to bowl regularly all year round, get in touch with the ASBM (Association Sportive du Bowling Marocain, the Moroccan Bowling Sports Association), which runs leagues in Rabat and Tangier.
What about summer?
Summer is the other season when opening hours change: at the Megamall, the bowling alley opens at 2 pm from Monday to Thursday and at noon from Friday to Sunday, with a single rate of 65 MAD; at Tamaris, weekend prices (75 MAD) apply every day from 15 June to 31 August.
